UNDERSTANDING YOUR ASSIGNMENT
(Eph. 2:10) “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto GOOD WORKS, which GOD HATH BEFORE ORDAINED THAT WE SHOULD WALK IN THEM”.
God created you for a specific assignment on earth, to good work ordained before you were born.
Assignment is God given specific task that is allocated to you alone here on earth which is design to found fulfillment within a stipulated time appointed. You don’t create assignment yourself but you discover it and every God given assignment is design to provide solution to problems not to create problems. There is an inbuilt ability God placed within you design to solve problems for someone somewhere, someday in life.
Before God formed you in your mother’s womb, he knew you and ordained you for a specific assignment on earth.
(Jer.1:5) “Before I FORMED THEE in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations”.
God does not wonder what your life should become now that you are alive. Your assignment was given from eternity (God’s realm), before you were born. You were born for a reason, everyone created by God was created for a specific task even though they were given birth to by illegitimate parents.
The purpose of your existence on earth is to discover and accomplish that assignment (task) God created and ordained for you. Doing what you were created to do will give you joy and fulfillment in life which you cannot get anywhere else on earth.
BIBLICAL EXAMPLES OF THOSE WHO DISCOVERED THEIR ASSIGNMENT
1. Moses
Exodus. 3:10 Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest BRING FORTH MY PEOPLE THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL OUT OF EGYPT.
God created Moses for only one assignment on earth, to bring the children of Israel out of Egypt.
2. Joshua
Joshua. 1:1 Now after the death of Moses the servant of the LORD it came to pass, that the LORD spake unto Joshua the son of Nun, Moses' minister, saying,
1:2 Moses my servant is dead; now therefore arise, go over this Jordan, thou, and all this people, unto the land which I do give to them, even to the children of Israel.
God created Joshua for only one assignment on earth; to lead the children of Israel across river Jordan into the Promised Land.
3. David
2 Samuel. 7:8 Now therefore so shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, from following the sheep, TO BE RULER OVER MY PEOPLE, OVER ISRAEL.
1 King 2:11 And the days that David reigned over Israel were forty years: seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem.
God created David to shepherd and be a warrior by ruling the children of Israel.
4. Solomon
2 Samuel. 7:12 And when thy days be fulfilled, and thou shalt sleep with thy fathers, I will set up thy seed after thee, which shall proceed out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
7:13 HE SHALL BUILD AN HOUSE FOR MY NAME, and I will stablish the throne of his kingdom forever.
Solomon was created to do one thing which is to build the temple.
5. Jeremiah
Jeremiah .1:5 Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ORDAINED THEE A PROPHET UNTO THE NATIONS.
Jeremiah was created and place on earth to be a prophet to the nations.
6. Jonah
Jonah 1:1 Now the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the son of Amittai, saying,
1:2 Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry against it; for their wickedness is come up before me.
Jonah was created to take repentance message to Nineveh.
7. John the Baptist
Matthew 3:1 In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea.
Isaiah 40:3 The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, PREPARE YE THE WAY OF THE LORD, MAKE STRAIGHT IN THE DESERT A HIGHWAY FOR OUR GOD.
John the Baptist was created for only one assignment on earth; a voice in the wilderness to prepare the way for Jesus.
8. Paul
Act 9:15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, TO BEAR MY NAME BEFORE THE GENTILES, AND KINGS AND THE CHILDREN OF ISRAEL.
Paul was created to take the gospel to the gentile’s nations.
Now, from the above examples you will discover that you were not created to begin pushing ambition to and fro till you grow old, God created you for a specific assignment and that is the only thing that can give you relevance on earth.
CONCLUSION
All these people accomplished their assignments on earth and God gave them rest in His kingdom. However, if i may ask, WHAT WERE YOU CREATED TO DO? WHAT IS YOUR ASSIGNMENT ON EARTH? And how far have you been able to fulfill it.
It’s of great necessity that you know the reason why you are on earth, “YOUR ASSIGNMENT” the timing and the strategy given for accomplishment”.
